An innocent man was allegedly raped then brutally beaten to death by the parents of a young girl who is said to have "lied" to them about being molested by the victim. She later admitted it was "a joke," one which led to the grizzly death of Dmitry Chikvarkin, a truck driver from the town of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Russia. The 48-year-old man was himself a dad with a 6-year-old daughter of his own. Dmitry made the mistake of assisting two little girls out of kindness. However, one of the girls would later tell her parents that the truck driver had given her and another child, age 3, a ride another relative's home. She claimed that Dmitry molested them, touching both her and the toddler inappropriately "below the waist.
It's said that the girl's father, 33-year-old Sergey Chabin flew into a blind rage upon learning about this fake incident and allegedly gathered together three of his friends as well as his girlfriend, 25-year-old Valera Dunaeva, who also happens to be the mother of the 3-year-old girl. Together they plotted to assault Dmitry Chikvarkin. Authorities in the town issued a statement about the incident, saying:
"They found the man who previously gave a lift to the children. First, he was raped… then they smashed his head with the same pipe, breaking his skull.."
Also assaulted was a relative of Dunaeva's former husband, who had been caring for the children and tried to protect Dmitry from the assault, reports Metro.
It was later discovered that the victim was still alive after the group finished their assault. Sadly, he would succumb to severe head trauma from the attack later on. People close to Dmitry were devastated after receiving news of his horrifying death.
"He just wanted to help by giving the kids a lift, but he was killed. He would never harm children," said Chikvarkin's friend while speaking to Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Following the incident, police concluded that the little girl had made up the allegations and meant for it to be a practical joke on her parents. Police later arrested Dunaeva and Chabin as well as their alleged accomplice, 27-year-old Mikhail Ivanov.
Authorities are currently looking for two other suspects involved in the assault, but as of now, they are on the run. Russian media outlets are reporting that the suspects are all being charged with "murder with special cruelty by a group of persons by prior conspiracy."
If they are convicted, all four men could be sentenced to life in prison, while Dunaeva might receive up to 20 years.
